Account & data
Deleting your YardLedger account or data
You can permanently delete your entire YardLedger account, or remove specific data without closing your account. Both options are immediate and cannot be undone.
Delete your whole account
Delete your account in the app
Open YardLedger and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account. This is immediate and permanent.
The same steps work in the web app at yardledger.com and in the iOS and Android apps.
If you can't sign in
Email us at [email protected] from the email address on your account and we will verify your identity and process the deletion for you. You can also reach us through our contact form.
What is deleted (immediately and permanently)
Deleting your account removes your account and all of the data tied to it, including:
- Your account and login (you will be signed out and unable to sign back in)
- Your profile and preferences
- All properties and zones
- Care history and care items / plans
- Equipment, materials, and infrastructure records
- Soil tests and notes
- Every uploaded file — event photos, reference photos, event attachments, equipment and material receipts, and AI-chat images
Delete specific data without closing your account
You can remove individual records yourself, anytime, without deleting your account:
- A property / yard: open the property → Edit / Manage → Delete. This removes that yard and its records — care history, zones, and events.
- A care event or note: open the event → Delete.
- A photo or attachment: open the item → remove the photo or attachment.
- Equipment, materials, or infrastructure: open the record → Delete.
Uploaded photos and files are stored separately from your records. Deleting a yard or an event removes the record, but to remove an uploaded image or file use the photo / attachment step above — or delete your whole account, which permanently removes every uploaded file.
These deletions are immediate and permanent. If you'd rather we delete specific data for you, email [email protected] from your account address and tell us what to remove.
What's kept: records you don't delete remain until you delete them or close your account. The billing and analytics retention described below also applies.
What is kept, and for how long
When you delete your account we remove your personal data from our systems immediately. Backups and a small number of records are retained only as described below:
- Encrypted backups: Residual copies in routine, encrypted system backups are purged on our normal backup-rotation schedule, no later than 90 days after deletion.
- Billing & subscription records: If you ever purchased a subscription, your payment processor (Apple App Store, Google Play, or our web payment processor) retains transaction records as required for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Analytics: When you delete your account, we also ask our analytics provider to delete your product-analytics profile on a best-effort basis. Aggregate, de-identified metrics that aren't linked to you may remain. To request or confirm analytics deletion, email [email protected].
- Support communications: If you've contacted us, the related support tickets and messages held by our support tool are retained for our records and are not removed by account deletion. Email [email protected] to request their deletion.
- Legal holds: We may retain limited information where required to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy, which describes our data-retention practices and your privacy rights.
